Chapter 7: YESHUA MESSIAH: The WORD of Life

24 January, 2010

The First Letter from Yeshua’s Emissary John

1 The Word, which gives life! He existed from the beginning. We have heard Him, we have seen Him with our eyes, we have contemplated Him, we have touched Him with our hands!
2 The life appeared, and we have seen it. We are testifying to it and announcing it to you – eternal life! He was with the Father, and He appeared to us.
3 What we have seen and heard, We are proclaiming to you so that you too may have fellowship with us. Our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Yeshua the Messiah.
4 We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.
Yochanan (John) is testifying to what he and others saw and announcing it to you!  We heard Him speak, saw Him personally with our own eyes, contemplated Him, and touched Him with our hands.  All these things we are testifying and proclaiming SO you too may have fellowship with the Father God and His Son Yeshua the Messiah.  We write these things so your joy may be complete; full and complete truth!  Eternal life.

Yochanan 17

1 After Yeshua had said these things, He looked up toward heaven and said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, so that the Son may glorify You –
2 just as you gave Him authority over all mankind, so that He might give eternal life to all those You have given Him.
3 And eternal life is this:  to know You, the One true God, and Him whom You sent, Yeshua the Messiah.

Yochanan 20:31 “But these which have been recorded are here So that you may trust that Yeshua is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by this trust you may have life because of who He is.”

9 If we accept human witness, God’s witness is stronger, because it is the witness which God has given about His Son.
10 Those who keep trusting in the Son of God have this witness in them.  Those who do not keep trusting God have made Him out to be a liar, because they have not trusted in the witness which God has given about His Son.
11 And this is the witness: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 Those who have the Son have the life; those who do not have the Son of God do not have the life.
13 I have written you these things so that you may know that you have eternal life – you who keep trusting in the person and power of the Son of God.
20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us discernment, so that we may know who is genuine; moreover, we are united with the One who is genuine, united with His Son Yeshua the Messiah. He is the genuine God and eternal life.

The following is a conversation between Yeshua and Nakdimon (Nicodemus) taken from Yochanan 3:
1 There was a man among the P’rushim, named Nakdimon, who was a ruler of the Judeans. 2 This man came to Yeshua by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know it is from God that you have come as a teacher; for no one can do these miracles you perform unless God is with him.” 3 “Yes, indeed,” Yeshua answered him, “I tell you that unless a person is born again from above, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” 4 Nakdimon said to him, “How can a grown man be `born’? Can he go back into his mother’s womb and be born a second time?” 5 Yeshua answered, “Yes, indeed, I tell you that unless a person is born from water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. 6 What is born from the flesh is flesh, and what is born from the Spirit is spirit. Stop being amazed at my telling you that you must be born again 7 from above! 8 The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it’s going. That’s how it is with everyone who has been born from the Spirit.” 9 Nakdimon replied, “How can this happen?” 10 Yeshua answered him, “You hold the office of teacher in Isra’el, and you don’t know this? 11 Yes, indeed! I tell you that what we speak about, we know; and what we give evidence of, we have seen; but you people don’t accept our evidence! 12 If you people don’t believe me when I tell you about the things of the world, how will you believe me when I tell you about the things of heaven? 13 No one has gone up into heaven; there is only the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moshe lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life. 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but rather so that through him, the world might be saved. 18 Those who trust in him are not judged; those who do not trust have been judged already, in that they have not trusted in the one who is God’s only and unique Son.

Thus we continue to examine the meaning of eternal life.  There is one profound statement given by Yeshua Himself that speaks volumes! Yeshua said, “I AM the Way – and the Truth and the Life;  NO one comes to the Father except through Me.”  If one remembers anything that is in this book, please remember this powerful verse!
Yeshua is the only way to heaven and eternal life!  The world is in darkness and those in that darkness must look to God’s only Son for complete truth and assurance of eternal life. Today is all we have, today is the day of salvation for yesterday is gone and we have no assurance of tomorrow.

6 Seek ADONAI while He is available, call on Him while He is still nearby.
7 Let the wicked person abandon his way and the evil person his thoughts; let him return to ADONAI, and He will have mercy on him; let him return to our God, for He will freely forgive.
