Oh, love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
When years of time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

A beautiful spring morning in 1989, sitting on a hotel balcony in Ponte Vedra, FL, looking out on an ocean without end and a cloudless sky, was the setting for a quiet time with a scripture from Ephesians 3:14-19:
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Yeshua Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith.And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the Love of Yeshua Messiah, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
This overwhelming scripture, along with the breathtaking view of ocean and sky, the words of the last verse came so clearly to mind along with a heavenly glimpse of the magnitude of God’s amazing love! Very few times does one experience such closeness to the awesome Elohim who created us in His image. How could one refuse so great a relationship of love and life through His Son, Yeshua Messiah?
“My home will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. The nations will know that I am ADONAI, who sets Isra’el apart as holy, when my sanctuary is with them forever.” Yechezk’el 37:27-28
Who I am means nothing to you, but the ONE Jehovah God means everything to you. If you meet me and forget me, you have lost nothing. If you meet Yeshua and forget Him, you have lost everything. It’s not about me; it’s all about Him.
My wealth is beyond measure because I am part of the family of God. My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills and rules and reins in His kingdom. Any and all who wish can be adopted into this family whose hearts and minds follow a drumbeat that is different than that of the world.
Through these writings may you, with all God’s people, be given strength to grasp the breadth, length, height and depth of the Messiah’s love.
